Fit for The Queen — Alexia Putellas’ first Player Edition of the Nike Phantom 6.
Known as ‘La Reina’, Alexia joins only a handful of women’s players to get their own signature boot — celebrating her story and setting a precedent for elevating women’s voices in the game and in product storytelling.
Upon the launch of her signature boots, the two-time Ballon d’Or Féminin winner pointed to her own inspiration: “When I started watching Barça, I remember 11 was Rivaldo — a lefty,” says Alexia, also a left-footed attacker. “I fell in love with that number. Everyone wants number 10, but 11 is special. When someone watches 11, I want them to think of Alexia.”
Her signature boots reflect that obsession with the number 11 featuring heavily throughout the design as well as her own Nike logo for the first time. A “More Than 11” theme covers the boot with 11 elevens emblazoned from the lace tips to the sock liner, outsole to the upper.
The boot follows a bold colourway of radiant reds, black tones and light metallic accents to reflect her game. While her Nike logo comprises a pair of 11s that combine with an elegant “A” to form a crown that nods to her jersey number, first initial and nickname.
“Growing up in Spain, I could only watch men playing football,” says Alexia. “I never dreamed about playing at Camp Nou or having my own Nike boot. This is crazy, but I’m enjoying the process.”
Alexia registered an assist in her first outing wearing her new signature boot — FC Barcelona
The 31-year-old debuted the boots in a 4–1 victory for FC Barcelona Femení last night. She came off the bench to put her stamp on the game and get an assist in a comfortable win over Sevilla.
Having been The Queen of the women’s game for a decade, it is only fitting that she finally receives her own signature boots.
